Women's Ministries

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Women's Ministries is:

To glorify God in our service to one another;

To encourage women of all ages to walk in close relationship with Jesus Christ;

To provide opportunities to build friendships with each other;

And to equip the women of Troy Christian Chapel to serve others.

To prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

— Ephesians 4:12-13

Ladies' Fellowship Christmas Breakfast
The purpose of the Ladies' Fellowship is to serve the ladies of TCC through prayer, encouragement, discipleship and fellowship through various events and activities, so that we can become true friends and sisters in the Lord, in fervent communication with Jesus Christ, ultimately striving to be a fruitful witness and servant in the furthering of God's kingdom here on earth. As the Ladies' Fellowship Committee we are a servant group concerned about the women of our congregation; intent on the Biblical command to hospitality; the social engine that connects the women of our church; necessary because our Christian faith is relational.

The Committee meets monthly to review the needs of the women of Troy Christian Chapel and plan activities that will encourage fellowship and growth in Christ including Showers. Contacts: Diane Muller (Chairman), Barb Galbreath (Secretary), Judie Teasel (Treasurer), Sandy Bamsey (Showers Ministry), Peggy Lewis (Pastoral Presence).

Tuesday Morning Bible Study
Meeting every Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 11:30, the Tuesday Morning Bible Study is the place to learn about God, about yourself and about how to trust. The women who lead this study understand the delights and trials of motherhood and the challenge of what it means to be a godly wife. We have discovered how we can cope with trials and how God's character is revealed in us, his wonderful creations. We are reminded that we are first women of God and, if we can focus on getting that right, the rest will follow. Contacts: Jeannie Jones and Jan Clark.

Lydia Group
This Bible study group meets every other Thursday evening from September through May. Created to accommodate daytime work schedules, the Lydia Group is composed of women of varied career backgrounds—including stay-at-home moms—who relish digging deep into God's word. We have done topical studies, book studies, and expository verse-by-verse studies of specific books of the Bible. We learn together, pray together and share each other's joys and burdens. Contacts: Linda Kilburn, Sharon Enright and Lee Ann Thal.

Prayer Chain
The Prayer Chain offers all those with prayer needs a means to have collective prayer on their behalf. It is made up of individuals who have made a commitment to pray for the needs of others. Any need, however big or small, is welcome. We believe in the power of prayer and have seen how it can change lives when Christ is at the center. Please contact the church office with any prayer requests you may have. The Prayer Chain falls under both Women's Ministries and the Barnabas Ministry, so both men and women are invited to participate. Contacts: Bev TerMarsch and Gretta Todd.

Shower Ministry
This ministry provides the women of Troy Christian Chapel with an opportunity to honor first-time moms and brides-to-be and to celebrate with them their new role in life. Showers, with gifts and dessert, are held in the Fellowship Hall. All the women of the congregation are welcome to attend, as are friends and family of the guest of honor. Contact: Sandy Bamsey or Diane Muller.

Meals Ministry
The Meals Ministry delivers meals to families who are in need because of the birth of a new baby or due to illness or death. Those who receive the meals know that this ministry is about much more than meals. The love and care that are put into preparing and delivering the meal tell the family receiving it that they are cared about and thought about by their church family. The commitment is flexible and no cooking skills are needed! Families are just as happy to receive carry-out as a home-cooked meal. Contact: Lee Johnson.

Pastor Donna's Quilt Comfort Quilt Ministry
A group of ladies who work together to make quilts for those who are ill. Contact: Sandy Bamsey.

Fit and Faithful
This weekly workout program is great for any age or fitness level. We meet every Tuesday evening to exercise to various fitness videos. Contacts: Lori Curtis and Lynn Saylor.
